what don't you understand? it was going to the slaughterhouse! they didn't have a high powered rifle to kill it with because most police departments don't have that in their arsenal so he used a handgun, probably a .38. that isn't going to kill a cow. a loose cow probably is scared so is probably is going to feel threatened and probably try to protect itself which means that if anybody gets close to it, it is probably going to try to trample that somebody. so the cops had to do something and he shot it with his handgun which probably wasn't the most efficient way to kill the cow but probably his only option. do you get it now moron?  |

Abattoir is the french word for slaughter house. I knew what an abattoir was when I was a kid, it's not an uncommon word in the UK and other countries....just in the US obviously.  |

Six cops running around like madmen. All they had to do was call one cowboy. They would have been rounded up and put away in 30 minutes. The cow was quite docile until the idiot turned on the siren. Was he expecting the animal to pull out its drivers licence?  |
