I've been imploring chris to capitalize for years! How can Documenting Reality takes its deserved place in the sun next to NYT, TIME magazine, NBC, CBS, MSNBC if chris won't capitalize?

In daily usage, a "bible" is any authoritative compendium on a given subject, such as a "bible" on homeownership or a "bible" on stock trading. In other words, it is a marketing hook. Since the Bible is regarded as the ultimate authority on matters of faith and living, a "bible" on soapmaking must be the definitive compendium of everything a soapmaker needs to know.

Nowadays many people refuse to capitalize the Bible as a passive-aggressive swipe at it. Ironically, you will see sentences like, "Whether you look at the Qu'ran or the Hindu Vedas or the Torah or the bible..." Thus proving (A) They specifically single out the Bible for some lame "disrepect" and (B) They have no idea that the Torah is the first five books of...wait for it...the Bible.

The other irony is that by not capitalizing it, they actually draw more attention to it. Why is it the only proper noun that is not capitalized? Why do they capitalize Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets but not the Bible?

So I just read in a Wednesday's WSJ that Australia has issued an edict for all media to delete the footage of the attack from their platforms. Apparently, as of Wednesday, most or all of Big Media complied, except Musk's X. X was willing to filter out Australia but not delete it. Musk complains that no nation has authority over the worldwide web.

Huge chunks of the Quran are also ripped word for word straight from the Bible. Which is amusing because Muslims denounce the Bible as being written by man, and therefore fabricated. Which also (by their logic) is undeniable proof that the Quran is also fabricated and not dictated to Mohammed in a cave somewhere by the angel Gabriel. (Mohammed was also illiterate which makes their claims even more farcical)

Mohammad was such a con man. Cliff Notes: the foundation of Quran is after studying with Torah/Bible scholars, Mohammad met with either Jewish or Christian leaders to propose merging his new cult with one of the big 2. Clergy told him to pound sand, so he just reappropriated the same bible stories, replaced lead characters with Muslims, and added a few rules to make his religion Arab-specific, etc.
