It’s an Assyrian Orthodox Church, so there are ties to the Arabic language due to its history (as well as other languages from that part of the world). There are many Arab Christians in the world.

The teenage boy arrested over last night's stabbing attack inside a Sydney church was placed on a good behaviour bond after facing court for a knife crime just three months ago.

Ok, I just heard an update on that. When the attacker approached the bishop with the knife, the blade closed in on the attacker's fingers.

In other words, the bishop was hit with the handle of the knife and the blade closed in on the attacker's fingers that resulted in three fingers getting cut off. If that isn't poetic justice, I don't know what is.
