Re: Cat Killer Sentenced to 16 YEARS for Murdering 21 Felines
I feel like this is more of a mental health issue than a criminal one, like it makes more sense to hold him in a psych unit than it does to put him in prison. Also 16 years in prison, provided he survives, may turn him into an actual threat against people upon his release, whereas say 5 years in a psych hospital might actually help him to where he is released and will not re-offend. Reading the comments here, it seems like many of you attempt to make sense of his actions, put yourself in his shoes for a sec and say, that's utterly insane how could someone do such a thing to defenseless cats, fucking execute this POS. What you are saying makes sense if a person of YOUR capacity was to commit these acts. Someone who thinks rationally and logically who did something like this would deserve to get the book thrown at them, but this guy doesn't think like you do, he clearly isn't playing with a full deck, so I guess I just don't see the punishment as being a good fit for this individual. |

Re: Cat Killer Sentenced to 16 YEARS for Murdering 21 Felines
I don't think rationally or logically quite often, should I use that as an excuse to kill cats? Wouldn't be more apt to say he has a warped mind? That doesn't mean he can be excused. Thankfully his punishment wasn't up to you, you would have given him a bit of Psyche Ward time and he would be out to do it again or worse. |
