All this over a hockey game? Talk about sore losers...What the fuck is going on over there?

Parked cars were set on fire, others were tipped over and people threw beer bottles at giant television screens following the Vancouver Canucks' 4-0 loss to the Boston Bruins on June 15 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals.
People chanted obscenities and some leaped over raging bonfires as riot police moved in to try to restore order in the downtown streets strewn with garbage and filled with acrid smoke. Flames shot about 10 yards into the air off the cars and some bystanders tossed firecrackers.
The chaos was reminiscent of a similar scene that erupted in the city in 1994 following the Canucks' Game 7 loss to the New York Rangers.
Rioters burn police cars after the Vancouver Canucks were defeated by the Boston Bruins.

Honestly, I didn't even check the date (I usually do, though).
I was reading this in the current events section of the Ny Daily times, so I assumed this actually was current. Good job, me...

Hopefully a mod will delete this blunder...Ahh, well... It's a good thing to be humbled every once in a while

No it wasn't

Canucks fans initiated it because their team lost. And it's not the first time fans of this team have gone ape-shit after a loss.
