Oliver Tree was one of a few artists I found during quarantine. I would play his music on repeat. As a professional photographer/videographer myself, I admired the way he portrayed his art. His style was so unique and fun. His music was so catchy and relatable. This one hit me. I know we all die. For some reason though, our brains create a comfort space where certain people seem “immortal” (not really of course, but in a way you don’t think they’ll die in your lifetime) Especially since he was 8 years younger than me. I can’t imagine the terror he felt. Idk. My words are meaningless, I just can’t stop thinking about it.

You put that beautifullly....it's completely mad...but we always hope someone is the "exception". He was something so so special thank you for saying so too.

Thinking back through all his songs, it's almost as if he had some premonition of his own death. Or precognition. One of his last music videos he was imitating a helicopter and posing at an aircraft graveyard. I just cannot believe this. Shortly before his tragic death in June 2026, Oliver Tree revealed during an interview on The Zach Sang Show that he had structured his estate in a highly unorthodox way.

His entire net worth of an estimated $4 million, along with all future music royalties, will be donated to upcoming artists rather than left to his family.

Tree established a foundation named Dr. Oliver Tree's Art Grants for Baby Geniuses. The money is strictly designated to cover the actual production costs of making art. This includes renting professional film equipment, booking studio time, and hiring production crews.

Tree stated that he believed the wealth generated from his music did not truly belong to him and should instead be funneled back into the creative community.

Creatives, directors, and musicians he collaborated with during his lifetime will vote collectively each year to choose which emerging talents receive the funds.

His family and any potential future heirs receive nothing from his estate.

The Only Exception: The sole financial provision he made for potential future children was a fund dedicated strictly to paying for their college tuition. He noted that his immediate family members were already financially independent.
