Most of the people showing up pay free are simply useful idiots that feel a need to be a part of something or profess to the world of their virtue, as if anyone will care that they as an individual were actually there.

The "paid" protesters accusations namely stem from the fact that community organizers and professional activist that are branches of organizers and NGO initiatives, make lucrative careers out of running around instigating shit. It can be anything from counter protest, to minority empowerment rallies. Whatever the case may be.

If they can tap into people's guilt, moral positions, or scare people into believing that "silence" equates to you being supportive of evil- some idiots will peel themselves from face-book to attend, snap a few selfies and try to convince every black, gay, muslim, have no idea what gender, Mexican, or insert any new victim to the libtard scope, they meet that they are not evil white storm-troopers from Star Wars.

But on the flip side- there are companies popping up that will pay you to go to a vigil, hold a candle, and cry in front of the passing press. No definitive number of how effective these companies have been, but they do exist.

“Crowds on Demand” claims to be “Your home for protests, rallies, audiences, PR stunts, and celebrity events” according to their website.

10 Days ago they posted an ad in the tv/film/video/radio job section of Charlotte’s Craigslist asking for, “enthusiastic actors and photographers in the Charlotte, NC area to participate in…everything from rallies to protests to corporate PR stunts to celebrity scenes.”
