ANOTHER IDIOT: ROBS STORE with His 5 YEAR OLD SON ALONG
SLIDELL, La. – A New Orleans man is behind bars for allegedly robbing a Northshore convenience store with his five-year-old son in tow, according to Slidell Police spokesman Detective Daniel Seuzeneau. Around 1 a.m. Monday, Slidell Police got a 911 call from the clerk at the Circle K in the 1100 block of Front Street, according to police. The woman told police she had just been robbed. A man, later identified as Michael Perry, 46, of New Orleans, entered the store with his son, bought a few items and then left the store, according to police. A short time later, Perry returned to the Circle K with his son to buy some oil for his truck. According to police, when the female clerk opened the cash register, Perry jumped behind the counter and grabbed around $90 from the cash register, before running from the store with his son. “Perry then fled the scene in a dark colored SUV. A witness was able to ascertain the license plate on Perry’s vehicle, which led police to Perry’s residence in New Orleans,” said a statement from Seuzeneau. Perry was tracked down by authorities to his home in New Orleans, and Tuesday, said Seuzeneau, Slidell Police secured a warrant for Perry’s arrest and attempted to serve it along with agents from the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force at his home on Queensway Drive in New Orleans East. When officers arrived at the home, Perry resisted police and attempted to jump out of a second-story window, said Seuzeneau, although no one was injured and he was taken into custody. In addition to simple robbery, Slidell Police plan to charge with Perry with additional charges for committing the robbery with his five-year-old son at the scene. He is currently in Orleans Parish Prison and awaiting a transfer to the St. Tammany Parish Jail, according to police |
