that may be the case but it does nothing but promote the myth that mass shootings in america are frequent (they arent, they are rare) and it gives attention to mass murderers. i understand reporting on a news story... it's the weeks and weeks of 'investigation into the killer' that is bullshit (imho). that attention is unnecessary and does nothing to better society.
it does make for good ratings though....
