Another Colorado School Shooting
Happening Now SOURCE Two people were reported injured Friday afternoon during a shooting at a suburban Denver high school. Denver TV station KUSA said the shooting occurred at Arapahoe High School, in Centennial. It's not yet known who was injured, how, or if any suspects have been apprehended. Police describe the scene as a "active shooter situation" and a gunman still inside the school. The Denver Post reported a dispatcher with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office had said there had been a shooting. The Post also said there are reports of a fire at the school. Area schools were on lock down. Nearby Columbine High School was the site of a 1999 massacre in which two students murdered 12 students, a teacher and wounded several others before the pair committed suicide. UPDATE: The Post also said there are reports of a fire at the school, home to about 2,200 students. SOURCE LIVE NEWSFEED FROM USA TODAY HERE (guessing for US area only) |

Re: Another Colorado School Shooting
I'm starting to think people have nothing better to do. I live in Colorado. I honestly am glad that I haven't had children and don't have to put up with this shit. Hopefully all are ok.

Re: Another Colorado School Shooting
200 children die every year in this country because of drunk drivers....the only reason stories like this get precedence is because the media, as per usual, is obsessed with sensationalism. As tragic as school shootings are (and they really are tragic) they are also very rare. The odds of your child dying in a school shooting is incredibly low dispite what the news tells you. There are 50 million elementary and secondary school students in America... now compare the number of deaths from school shootings with the number of deaths from drunk driving accidents...why don't we hear about all those deaths in the news? Because it's considered boring and unimportant. How many children gunned down in Chicago this year....not important. The fact that more Americans die from prescription drug related deaths than from auto accidents.....not important or a big enough threat to public safety to be news. A handful of children get killed in a horrible and tragic way, but a shocking way.....the western world demands change. |

Re: Another Colorado School Shooting
The reason the media responds to such deliberate acts is simply over the conscious decision to murder innocent people in answer to their inability to adjust in this world. Some people are so broken that there is no hope to fill the gaps in their soul. Drunk driving is not a good idea and unfortunately many of us have been guilty of it but the connection doesn't exist between conscious and deliberate murder.
