Re: Alec Baldwin Fires Prop Gun on Set, Killing Cinematographer The guy who got popped in the shoulder said Alec was practicing a "cross draw" which is something actors do in movies when they draw the gun with the hand opposite the side that the gun is holstered. When he drew the gun he pulled the trigger like a fucking retard would do and killed 1 and injured another. This nutjob did exactly what you would expect a complete moron anti-gun nutjob to do with a loaded gun. He never should have pulled the trigger but theres supposed to be people in charge of constantly checking this shit. Right now everyone is pointing the finger and trying to break down the safety process as not their fault. It also came out that hours before the fatal shooting the crew were seen out back "plinking" which means fucking around shooting shit for fun. I'll bet you everyone wanted the chance to shoot whatever badass colt Alec was using for the movie, add some irresponsible idiots to the front of the safety process like this airheaded armorer who got basically her first big gig and there you go Alec ended up with a loaded gun in his hand pointed at the crew. You can't make this retarded shit up. ![]() ![]() |

Re: Alec Baldwin Fires Prop Gun on Set, Killing Cinematographer Contrary to some of the idiotic posts on here, the crew reported AB was VERY careful with the guns on the set. One cameraman testified that AB told a child to move a safe distance away because they were too close, due to curiosity, and this was for a blank gun. AB was told it was a "cold gun" before he got it. The scene was for him to do the cross-draw, and then shoot at the camera. The producer and cinematographer were behind the camera that was doing the filming. The fault lies with the armorer on the set. They are supposed to check EVERY weapon prior to handing it over for filming. One armorer was interviewed and said he shines a flashlight down the barrel with the actor watching, to insure there is nothing in the gun. The armorer on this set was fired from another production due to carelessness on another film set that had an accident, but no one died in that one. The ARMORER is responsible for gun safety on the set. It is his JOB. Why he failed to do the checks is beyond me. If I was doing that job, I would be paranoid ALL the time. |

Re: Alec Baldwin Fires Prop Gun on Set, Killing Cinematographer Dave Halls, the Rust assistant director who handed actor Alec Baldwin the loaded gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last week, had been fired from a movie set in 2019 over what producers are characterizing as the negligent discharge of a firearm. A producer for the film Freedom’s Path confirmed to Rolling Stone that Halls, who served as an assistant director, was terminated on the spot after a gun “unexpectedly discharged” on his watch. “I can confirm that Dave Halls was fired from the set of Freedom’s Path in 2019 after a crew member incurred a minor and temporary injury when a gun was unexpectedly discharged. Halls was removed from set immediately after the prop gun discharged. Production did not resume filming until Dave was off-site,” the producer said in the statement. “An incident report was taken and filed at that time.” Crew member Serge Svetnoy, who also witnessed the shooting, shared a scathing post on Facebook, in which he placed blame for the deadly incident on Rust producers for hiring a young, relatively inexperienced armorer for such a gun-heavy production. “To save a dime sometimes, you hire people who are not fully qualified for the complicated and dangerous job, and you risk the lives of the other people who are close, and your lives as well,” he wrote. “I understand that you always fight for the budget, but you cannot allow this to happen. There should always be at least one professional in each department who knows the job. |

Re: Alec Baldwin Fires Prop Gun on Set, Killing Cinematographer Quote:
The armorer was a 24 year old daughter of a legendary Hollywood armorer and this was her first gig as head armorer for a major movie. She said some stupid shit on a podcast leading up to the job. I only saw out of context quotes but it was not anything you'd want someone in charge of all the firearms saying, like she wasn't sure she was ready and she was nervous but excited or something. The guy who handed Alec the "cold gun" was not the head armorer. |

he has been so vocal about anti-gun matters, and yet he still is happy to have a live gun on the set ![]() perhaps he should have stopped trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and thought about actual safety . . . then he would not have killed someone |

Re: Alec Baldwin Kill 1 Injure 1 with Prop Gun this was not a "prop gun" it was a real gun that many movies use. pop guns are fake and not able to fire. the workers had 500 rounds of ammunition on set, because on their breaks, they would shoot the guns in the desert at targets for fun , then would take bullets out and just use them on set. they forgot to take one out this time. |
