Actor Ray Liotta Dies at 67
1954-2022 ![]() He died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting the film Dangerous Waters. Liotta was born in New Jersey and abandoned at an orphanage before being adopted at six months. After small roles in TV Liotta eventually received a Golden Globe nomination for 1986’s Something Wild. ![]() He went on to star in Field of Dreams in 1989 before taking on the role of Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas. ![]() The following decades included many memorable roles including in Ridley Scott’s Hannibal, Narc, Identity, Cop Land, Blow and voice acted Tommy Vercetti in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. What a bummer. His appearance on ER contributed to me getting sober. We lost a good one today, I’ll only subside my depression if someone kills David Hogg. |

Really sad. Loved him in Blow, although a small role, he was excellent. There have been cases of people in DR who like to “poison American‘s”.. that was the first thing that came to my mind when I heard that he died there. Will be interesting to hear his autopsy report, if published. |

Some people just die in their sleep. It happened to a friend of mine in January. He was a great actor. That episode of his character on ER dying of alcoholism was terrific. ER and its graphic vomiting scenes complete with sound effects. |
