9 Tonnes of Hash, Gone Forever
Tons of hashish with an estimated street value of R550m(about 50 000 000 million pounds) were seized at a freight company in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, on Wednesday by the Hawks. Spokesperson McIntosh Polela said the Hawks received a tip-off and on arrival found packages in a consignment, covered with two tiles on each side. The load was declared as tiles to an export company and was due to be exported to Europe. The Hawks discovered 9 050kg of hashish hidden inside. "The Hawks suspect thatthe latest seizure islinked to a R54bn hashish bust which was made just over two months ago. We are following up on information to track down suspects. No arrests have been made," Polela said. · |

Re: 9 Tonnes of Hash, Gone Forever
no valid reference and i can only find 2 stories about this on googles news search the fact that they're claiming a £5,000,000,000 bust 2 months ago for 900 tons (900,000kgs) makes me find this story hard to believe. the fact that the biggest previous drugs bust in the country was done by the hawks in 2009 at £42million (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8259456.stm) makes this story seem bullshit |

Re: 9 Tonnes of Hash, Gone Forever
Without even looking for info on it, I know it's bullshit. Nearly 2,000,000 lbs of hash? No fucking way. To put that in perspective, the Max legal weight for an 18wheeler in the US is 80,000 pounds (so I've heard) That'd be almost 25 of these trucks made out of hash and filled to capacity with hash!
