Re: 7-year-old Student Suspended for 2 Days After Chewing a Tart into a Gun
I don't know which is more poisonous, trying to pass a state specific weapons ban on the entire country, or the above sentiment. Theres about as much correlation b/w 'the liberals' and school shootings as there is b/w conservatives and school shootings. Middle class values in this country transcend political lines, and all of these school shooters come from a background of middle class values. As a person from the deep, deep south, I have to say that the only differences I've ever seen between us and 'liberal' places are petty, skin deep nothingnesses. There's nothing fundamentally different between liberals and conservatives. And theres almost no difference between the North and the South, especially in rural areas, and their urban centers are just more intense, concentrated versions of ours. Its the people from the West we have to worry about...Until we can unite against them, we're all doomed... |

That's your point of view. There is actually quite a bit of difference between the liberal and conservatives. Some differences may be small, and some(most) are rather large. Like I stated earlier, you do not hear of teachers overreacting about poptarts in the South. |

Re: 7-year-old Student Suspended for 2 Days After Chewing a Tart into a Gun
"Boy suspended for tart gun" Hes a boy. Guns go boom and destroy shit, boys like guns. I remember drawing acme style bombs, guns n such on my folders as a child and never heard anything of it. I feel as though rubbing all these kids noses on the voilence is kinda leting the twisted people win to put it cliche-ly |

imagine them in the medieval times, where kids would play with sticks formed into the weapons of that age (obviously swords).. wonder how many of them got reprimanded for that.

Re: 7-year-old Student Suspended for 2 Days After Chewing a Tart into a Gun
But teachers from the South are known to do other, unrelated ludicrous things. I'm not trying to be anti-south when I say that. I'm just trying to be anti-anti-north. As far as the liberal vs conservative stuff goes, the only reason I brought it up is because I think its bad that our understanding of the political spectrum, and therefore, the pool from which we allow ourselves to draw our opinions from, is limited to a minuscule section within a much bigger political spectrum - so minuscule, in fact, that I feel very comfortable with saying there is no difference between the two in this country. Ignoring the context within which our opinions are drawn, and only looking at the sliver of a sliver of what we consider political fact, then yes, there's actually a big difference between liberal and conservative. |
