A mother stabbed her two daughters to death before turning the knife on herself, police believe. Marta Galikowska, 27, was found dead alongside her two daughters Maja, five, and 18-month-old Olga. Police discovered the three bodies at a semi-detached house in Stoke at about 6.30pm on Sunday, after being alerted by neighbours.  A 27-year-old man, believed to be Mrs Galikowska’s estranged husband Marcin, was arrested at the scene but released without charge on Monday. Witnesses said they heard ‘a blazing row’ before the stabbings. The couple are understood to have separated before Christmas last year. A man was being quizzed by detectives yesterday (Mon) after a mother and two children were found stabbed to death in a house. Police were called to a semi-detached property in Sherwin Road in Stanfields, Stoke-on-Trent, at 6.35pm on Sunday (12/10) where they discovered the three bodies. Neighbours yesterday (Mon) named the woman as Marta Galikowska, 28, who moved to Britain from her native Poland. Residents told of their shock at the deaths. A statement from Staffordshire Police said: ìA man was arrested by the police responding to the incident in connection with the deaths and he is speaking to detectives about the tragic incident. Whilst a detailed forensic examination of the scene has already commenced, it expected that police will remain at the scene for some considerable time.î Neighbours say that Marta would always smile while taking her daughter to school Picture: Facebook) ‘It’s so sad and upsetting, especially when you’ve got children of your own,’ said a 32-year-old neighbour. ‘It’s the children I feel for.’ A witness who lives near them heard a man shouting ‘they’re dead’, and another neighbour who is a nurse went in and tried to feel for a pulse. Kelly Hughes, 31, said: ‘The woman walked past my house every day to take her daughter to school. You got the point there, TheVrist. With the technologies here, a lot of evil people have been exposed which make it easier for us to catch them...but it is still sickening to know what they are up to, nowadays and it frightens us big time. Especially the safety of our future generations. I am kinda scared for my son to be one of the victims and be known on the Faces of Death which I HOPE will never happen! I will not go overboard on his protection though...but I will at least teach him the dangers of the world we are in today when he gets older and is more aware. I sometimes lose some faith in the humanity but I know not all humans are awful. We need to get the discipline back like old times. Just don't go overboard on it that will be classified as a Child Cruelty ugh. Oh and if they can't feed their own children or take responsibilities then don't fucking breed them. It annoys me how people will go too far to take the masks and hand sanitizers to protect themselves from the Ebola yet won't use the condoms from having children/AIDS/HIV. Christ. |
