Re: 15-year-old Sophomore Shoots 3 Students, Injuring 6 at Oxford High School
I'm not a huge fan of guns but it's far too late to start demanding restrictions. That ship has already sailed. The problem to address now is creating an environment where people don't have the desire to go around shooting other people. Unfortunately that takes a great deal of intelligence, understanding, and compassion, which is very much lacking in USA.

Re: 15-year-old Sophomore Shoots 3 Students, Injuring 6 at Oxford High School
You absolutely don’t understand the problem at all. What good are background checks? The only people that use them are LAW ABIDING. The vast majority of guns used in violent crimes by gang members in large cities are brought in to the country on the mexican pipeline illegally. We know most kids who get their hands on guns get them from criminals more often than from their household. Most criminals get guns by means of theft or trading in stolen property. We know this because the FBI keeps a separate database of statistics for law enforcement only. It has actual statistics on "gun violence" as well. It looks nothing like the politically correct statistics released to the public. Here are a couple items from the politically correct gun violence database that no one ever realizes because of how ignorant the public is do to liberal indoctrination Suicide by firearm is counted as gun violence. Attempted suicide with a firearm is counted as gun violence. Police shootings counted as gun violence Citizen self defense counted as gun violence Brandishing a firearm counted as gun violence My favorite if a juvenile is reprimanded by a school for making the "hand gesture of a gun" that is also counted as gun violence. So it sounds to me like maybe the problem starts with (drum roll) ………… criminals and cocksucking liberal manipulation of real statistics that lead people to believe "this is getting out of hand" |

Everything you said is 100% accurate. Those stupid gun violence stats is so manipulated, it's insane. Speaking as a cop, we have access to the real numbers (which is readily available to anyone who looks) and it just proves how tone deaf Dem and Leftists talking points are, which is why they keep them buried. They want control and power and a sure enough proven shortcut to that is an unarmed populace. Never-mind that our armed citizenry has been cited by numerous enemies (confirmed through spies, collecting of intelligence after wars, and through defectors) as why no enemy has invaded the US mainland. It just isn't practical and the enemies have feared there would be devastating losses to their military from the millions of armed citizens.

Re: 15-year-old Sophomore Shoots 3 Students, Injuring 6 at Oxford High School
I agree with you about there being a weird double standard about who and where there can be guns. But I was thinking about it also in the respect of how school in general is a place of stress not just for the students but for the teachers as well. And by having a gun in play for either to use in any scenario ups the ratio of people actually using it to begin with. It creates a thought from all involved, students and faculty that there would be a gun in the hands of someone who it could be misused or taken from by the other. It is one of those things that is a damned if you do damned if you don't type of scenarios. We already have police presence at school. Like a school police person, usually. But I think it would be a great idea for the community if all schools funded a security team for every school. That would create more jobs, and make people feel safer being in, and working in a school setting. |
