I'm rather fond of the meaty slap of a wooden bat.
It depends upon the type;
A small, rounders bat is useful in enclosed spaces, on teeth and bony joints, but lacks velocity and therefore power. Good however, for insertion.
A wooden baseball bat has mass and can do brutal damage to fleshy parts, internal organs, bone, joints, soles of the feet, pretty much everything. It is also good for insertive torture.
A cricket bat, is great on buttocks, thighs, back etc and can also be turned side on to use the "blade" of the bat to ope skulls up. Also good for insertion.
