Two men have been arrested by the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office after an alleged assault on an off-duty Wilmington Police Officer.
This past Saturday, Sgt. Curtis Stansbury was at Slainte on Front Street, when one person approached him and distracted him. The second man then sucker punched the officer, according to deputies.
Surveillance video inside the Irish pub shows the incident taking place.
Stansbury declined medical treatment Saturday night, but did go to the hospital the next day. He has not returned to work yet.
The two arrested men are Marc Connery Ingham and Robert William Bogen, Jr. Ingham is charged with Assault and Battery and Misdemeanor Conspiracy. He was booked on a $2,500 unsecured bond. Deputies say Ingham is an attorney from Wake County. Bogen Jr. is charged with Simple Assault and Misdemeanor Conspiracy and was booked on a $2,000 secure bond.
