Former NFL star Terrell Owens made headlines as he reportedly faced a critical health incident involving an overdose of prescription pain medication, as documented by the Dallas Police Department. Owens, a prominent wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys at the age of 32, was grappling with depression and disclosed his intent to harm himself during the incident.

According to information provided by a female companion, identified as Kim Etheredge, who also serves as Owens's publicist, Owens had recently obtained a prescription for 40 pain pills. However, by the time of the incident, he had only consumed five of these pills. Etheredge recounted observing Owens ingesting an additional two pills, prompting her to intervene by attempting to retrieve them from his mouth. As a result of this overdose, Owens received medical attention at Baylor University Medical Center.
