Officer-involved Shooting Near 9906 S Ewing Ave
On September 2, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., on-duty Chicago police Officers Ariel Harris and Jose Huerta were involved in an officer-involved shooting near 9906 S Ewing Ave. Officers Harris and Huerta discharged their firearms at a woman after she pointed a firearm at the officers when they attempted to engage her. Officer Harris and Officer Huerta's use of deadly force complied with CPD policy. Allegations that both officers failed to timely activate their body-worn cameras during the incident were sustained.
