This audio is from an officer-involved shooting near 2100 South St. Louis on February 13, 2023.

Two officers were on routine patrol when they saw a double-parked vehicle with a group of individuals around it. Officers conducted a street stop, and one officer got out and approached one person they suspected of concealing a weapon.

The person ran. One officer followed through a park and southbound down an alley. The second officer got out and pursued southbound on St. Louis.

As the person approached, one officer drew his weapon and fired once, striking the person in the chest. A weapon was recovered at the scene.
