This audio is from an April 15, 2023, officer-involved shooting in the 3800 block of West Flournoy Street in Chicago.

The incident began when two Chicago police officers engaged a group of individuals. As the officers exited their vehicle, one individual began to walk away, then fled on foot.

The officers pursued him through a gangway, into a backyard, and into another gangway where there was no exit. He turned back toward the officers to leave the gangway, and one officer fired, striking him.

The individual later died from his injuries. He was in possession of a firearm, which was recovered at the scene.
