An off-duty Chicago police officer observed two suspicious vehicles near 2800 W. Grace Street.

The officer approached the vehicles and identified himself as a police officer. An unknown individual inside one of the vehicles pointed a firearm in the officer's direction.

The off-duty officer fired twice in the direction of the unknown individual. Both vehicles fled the scene.

It is unknown whether anyone was injured by the shots fired by the off-duty officer. No video capturing the incident or the additional involved party has been identified or obtained.
