Off-duty Officer Fires on Bishop Ford, No Hits
On January 2, 2023, at about 11 p.m., an off-duty Chicago police officer was involved in a weapons discharge near 9900 South Bishop Ford Freeway. Police Officer Christopher McMahon, assigned to the 4th District, discharged a firearm at an unknown individual on the Bishop Ford Expressway. No one was hit. A misconduct allegation over the firearm discharge was later closed with an exonerated finding.  ·
