Austin, Texas, police arrested Ellis Ingram IV, 27, a documented member of the Bloods street gang, after they said he made 911 calls threatening to kill officers days after an Austin officer fatally shot 18-year-old Nathaniel Sanders II.

Ingram was charged with making a terroristic threat, a third-degree felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison, according to police. He was held on $50,000 bond.

Investigators said the calls began the night of May 11, 2009, hours after Officer Leonardo Quintana shot and killed Sanders in the parking lot of the Walnut Creek Apartments on Springdale Road in East Austin.

In the first call, placed shortly before 11 p.m., Ingram told a 911 dispatcher that an officer was down at the complex, then threatened to kill any officer who responded, police said.

Seven more calls followed in the early hours of May 13, each threatening to kill police officers, according to authorities. Recordings of the calls, later obtained by the Austin Chronicle, showed the threats were retaliatory, with Ingram telling dispatchers officers would "learn" and that it was "time to bust back."

Ingram was arrested later that week and booked into the Travis County Jail, police said.
