A Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy is recovering at Shands Hospital in Gainesville after he was shot, Saturday afternoon.

According to a spokeswoman, the deputy was responding to a domestic dispute, when the suspect shot him.

Two deputies responded to the incident between a young man and an elderly at a home in the For McCoy area, of Ocala.

Deputies say that the elderly man was also shot, and was taken to a local hospital.

Authorities identified the shooter as, Bruce McDonald. The Marion County Deputy who was shot was identified as, Owen Confessore.

The other deputy who responded to the scene was not injured.
