Re: Jim Morrison

Oh, I LOVE Jim! I'm actually writing a book about him and his common-law wife, Pamela Courson. :D

@Amiann: After the whole Miami concert fiasco, Jim and Pamela took off to Paris so Jim could get away from the rock n' roll lifestyle and music and focus on his poetry. They'd been there for a few months, traveling and generally laying low.. Jim didn't really seem keen on returning to LA or the band. I think he was done with all of that and ready to settle down, but something happened, and Jim died in Paris. Pam thought Jim's resting place should be among others akin to his greatness, so she had him buried in the prestigious Pere La Chaise cemetery.

Re: Jim Morrison

Why is his grave vandalised - is it just random acts of vandalism? France seems to have a real issue with vandals because I often hear of them vandalising the graves of the British soldiers of the Somme.

Re: Jim Morrison

It's people paying him tribute.. it's not really bad vandalism, as far as what's being written. He's a popular tourist site for Paris.

Yeah, I've never understood why they mark on the other graves, it's pretty disgusting.

Re: Jim Morrison

This is the end, Beautiful friend, This is the end, My only friend, the end

My God, I have been a huge Doors fan since I was 14 years old. I remember reading In No One Here Gets Out Alive, when I was 15. *sigh*
