Re: Woman Taking Crosswalk Ran Over by Jeep
They do except those jeepney drivers don't care a bit about road rules. The trucker kept the zebra loose but notice that the two jeepneys did not give a care. One is straddling the zebra and the other just breezed thru. Ive known many drivers of those kind of public transport here that are completely illiterate and knows only money value and road signs by memory of what was told to them. 80% of these kind of transport drivers don't deserve the licenses they got thru bribe and under the table deals. If you ever be here for a vacation, never ride in any of those jeepneys. Most of them are brutes in manners, driving style and concern to fellow human. There's only few who are worthy as Public Transport providers. |

Re: Woman Taking Crosswalk Ran Over by Jeep
Thanks! I want to travel to the Phillipines. I wasn't aware that the Jeepneys were so hazardous. I will be steering clear of them. (no pun intended) |

Re: Woman Taking Crosswalk Ran Over by Jeep
I can recommend a vehicle with a driver if you are ever in the northern part of the country. Our eldest brother. He's got a 2019 chevy trailblazer and a 2020 hyundai accent sedan so its not going to be uncomfortable. But elsewhere, just get a reliable guide and ask them recommendation for a private vehicle rental. you will be much safer and can travel whenever you want. Most public transports in the country do not operate 24 hours a day. wee hours are the time of difficulty finding safe transportation and you might end up with a robber driver looking for a victim. and dont rely on Facebook deals either. not 100% safe for tourists. personally know a guide/companion first then get recommendations from them for whatever you need. Note: When you find a guide/companion, try to take him/her to a town police station to obtain a police clearance. a bit hassle but not much. it can be done in a few hours. If he/she refuse for whatever reason, find another guide/companion that would not mind that effort. There are fake licenses and clearances floating all over the country and getting them is cheap. But it can not stand up to legit check. so it is still better to make them get it on the day you would engage a contract with them. and get it on an actual police station, not from some syndicated printing shop elsewhere. |
