Chaos erupted at Tatanagar railway station on Monday morning when a young man, around 30 years old, climbed onto the roof of the stationary Tata–Danapur train. The identity of the young man has not yet been established. According to eyewitnesses, the man suddenly started climbing onto the train. People nearby tried to stop him, but by then he had already reached the roof of the train. The youth told the people that he would walk across from one side to the other over the top of the train. He then paced back and forth on the roof of the train for quite some time. In the meantime, he came into contact with a high-tension overhead power line, received an electric shock and fell down. With the help of the Railway Police and others, the injured man was taken to MGM Hospital for treatment. According to the doctors, his condition is currently stable. Efforts are underway to establish his identity and determine the reasons behind the incident. |
