Very lucky.

We have signs and stuff saying no mobile phones in use but it never ceases to amaze me at just how many people use them while filling up their tank.

I mean, why don't they smoke a cigarette while they're at it?

well you know how electricity causes fire when it touches something like petrol, or it can cause explosions when it touches a room of gas for example.

electrical items such as mobile phones or ipods can cause static electricity. if you then touch a metal item the electricity can "spark across" to the metal item.

that spark can ignite the petrol really easily.

I knew static electricity can ignite gas but I always thought the cell phone thing was an urban legend. Ive never noticed any static electricity coming from my cell.
