Skydiver Unharmed After Fall to the Ground at Fort Worth's Armed Forces Bowl

A parachutist got caught up in netting behind a goal post and fell nearly 30 feet while landing during a pregame ceremony on Friday.

The skydiver was part of a veteran jump team performing before Texas State and Rice squared off in the college football bowl game.

The parachutist was gliding into the stadium carrying a U.S. Navy flag when they suddenly got hung up on netting behind a goal post.

The parachutist's lines drew sharply backward just above the goal post, and they were suspended in the air for a moment before the chute collapsed and they fell about 30 feet to the ground.

Drew Harris, the director of the Armed Forces Bowl, said the parachutist walked away and that no one in the crowded area behind the end zone was injured when the skydiver fell. Harris said a second parachutist landed safely outside the stadium after electing to veer off due to the wind.

The jump into Amon Carter Stadium was being done by the All Veteran Group, a group of skydivers with more than 100,000 combined jumps who regularly perform at more than 150 events each year.

Mike Elliott, the jump team's president, said the winds were troublesome and that none of the jumpers were injured.

There's a good idea. Let's run nearly invisible wires across the stadium and then invite someone to parachute into there. Did they also install AAA and CWIS too?

And they are STILL claiming that "Skynet" is harmless. Just ask Linda Hamilton.
