Retired Policewoman Died After Cement Mixer Truck Crashed Her Car
Aftermath accident. A retired policewoman died on Saturday in a motor vehicle crash along the Spur Tree Hill main road in Manchester, Jamaica. The deceased is 62 year old Paulette M. of Portmore in St Catherine. Reports are that the accident occurred while she was returning home from a visit to friends and relatives in St Elizabeth. Indications are that a cement mixer truck was being driven down the steep hill when it developed mechanical problems and in an effort by the driver to stop the vehicle on the right side of the roadway where the hillsides are, the body of the truck was dislodged from the cab of the vehicle, and ended up crashing into her car and crushing it with her inside. The incident resulted in a pile-up of traffic along the roadway, as the authorities had to have the mixer portion of the truck removed from atop the car. The Spur Tree Hill main road is notorious for tragic motor vehicle crashes over the years, especially involving out-of-control heavy duty vehicles. |

I wonder how much those things weigh when they're loaded up with concrete? Having seen this, now i have to go back and find that cement mixer compilation that Dr. Thrumpkinz poor together a couple months ago.  |

8 cubic yards is the standard full load of these truck in the US which works out to about 32,000 lbs (14,545kg) of just concrete. I'd guess that puts the full truck weight around 50,000lbs. She got just the drum so probably 40,0000lbs. Probably 15x more than the car she was in...   |

First funeral I attended was in 1978 for that of my fathers coworker, her friend, her mother and her grandmother who were all killed when a cement truck failed to stop in time and ran completely over the low-sitting Camaro. Closed casket of course. I never forgot the picture I created in my imagination that day. Of them. Mangled flesh, metal and bone. Seems I possessed a very accurate imagination even for a naive 15 year old. |

How ironic. She spends her life as a Police Officer, cleaning up scenes just like this one, and in the end she goes the same way, but this time it will be her friends who have to clean her up. Fuck that!
