Parasailing Couple Behind Boat Rope Snap
A couple hailing had a narrow escape as their parachute rope snapped during a parasailing trip in India a week ago. The incident happened when A. K. and his wife S. K. went parasailing on the beach. Just minutes into the ride, the rope of their parachute tied to the powerboat that was dragging it, snapped. As a result, the couple fell straight into the sea. However, luckily, bot didn't get hurt and they escaped without injuries. They were wearing lifejackets and were rescued by the lifeguards deployed at the beach almost immediately. His father was taken a video of their adventure. “I was recording the video and had no idea what to do when the rope broke. I could see my brother and sister-in-law falling from a great height, and I never felt so helpless as I did at that moment,” he told. |

Unfortunately, you aren't going to see anything, because Cecil B. DeMoron filmed the inside of the boat. But you CAN hear the ruckus. Since it's just the tow rope that broke, it should have been a normal parachute descent, and plop into the water. |

I went parasailing in Florida but I'm not so sure I'd do it in India. Agreed with above.. falling to the water with a parachute isn't all that dangerous. Perhaps a risk of drowning from being twisted up in the lines once they landed but I'm sure the boat that was pulling them was quick to assist. |

Well, he better toughen up some if he wants to be here on DR. We don't tolerate panzy-asses. I'm sure most members here would have continued filming, and even added narration such as "Hey, Y'all! Look! Billy Bob's about the bite the schnitzel!"

11 mm spectra rope used as static line in rock-climbing can pick up over 3000 kilos. 12 mm Walmart rope can hold up a hammock. |

~ I saw the rope thinning out about half way , & then heard the rope snap before it happened. ~ They were way too high for that rope's specs. |
