One Killed when a Mahindra Hits 2 Men on a Bike

India. Two cousins on a motorcycle, identified as P. B. (24) and C. B. (23), were traveling on the road around 6:00 PM when a Mahindra SUV, driven recklessly on the wrong side of the road, hit them head-on.

The collision was violent, tossing the riders into the air, with one thrown nearly 10 feet, before they slammed onto the road.

P.B. died from fatal injuries, while the other remains in critical condition with severe head and internal injuries.

Following the crash, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Police arrived shortly after to rush the victims to a local hospital, where the survivor was referred to an advanced medical center for specialized treatment.

Police seized the Mahindra and using the vehicle's registration and ownership records to track down the identity of the driver.

Once caught, the driver will face strict criminal charges, which typically include causing death by negligence, rash driving on a public way, and leaving the scene of a fatal accident without rendering aid.

Because the driver fled the scene without reporting the accident to a police officer or magistrate, the case falls under the stringent hit-and-run provisions of the law.

Escaping the scene of a fatal accident carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a heavy financial fine.

For causing the death of P. B. through rash and negligent driving, the driver faces an additional base charge of up to 5 years in prison.

Re: One Killed when a Mahindra Hits 2 Men on a Bike

It seems strange that the punishment for leaving the scene is twice that for killing him in the first place.

They don’t have the same kind of punishment there like it is in other countries. It seems rather lacking in terms of years given for killing someone.
