I think he may have been suicidal. But that was the lamest suicide attempt ever. It's as if his life is so sad and pathetic, he had to choose the most pathetic vehicle to jump out in front of in order to end his life. Real men jump out in front of buses.

Ehh, it seems it was less talking about the manlyness of suicide, more the crappy way of going about it; He may not have been a real man for wanting to kill himself, he was just even less-so for doing such a shit job of it.

We need irony tags of some sort so that ironic statements can be highlighted as irony. Same with sarcasm. "Real men commit suicide by jumping in front of busses" was intended to be both sarcastic and ironic. Because real men jump off cliffs.
