Mahindra Car Fatally Hits a Pedestrian and Injuring Another
India. Pedestrian Kisan was killed and pedestrian Kamal was injured. The driver fled the scene. The police have seized the vehicle from the owner’s residence after identifying it through CCTV footage. The driver is identified but still at large. Under the new laws, if a driver causes death by rash or negligent driving and escapes the scene without reporting it to a police officer or magistrate, they can face up to 10 years in prison plus a substantial monetary penalty. If the driver had stayed and reported the incident, the penalty would be up to 5 years in prison. |
