Re: Kid Walking with His Mother on Crosswalk Gets Hit by a Car
Why did the car hit the brakes... and then just keep rolling on? In that situation, I'd be standing on the brakes until I fucking stopped. Is everyone in that shithole country an idiot?

Re: Kid Walking with His Mother on Crosswalk Gets Hit by a Car
In this case, yes, and drivers MUST give way to the pedestrians on a crosswalk, when it's not controlled by traffic lights or they just do not exist, just like in this video. At least this is the law in the Baltic and Scandinavian countries and many more countries in Europe. This video is originated from Russia, and there's the same law. So like it or not, the driver of the SUV is the one actually to blame here I don't know, how traffic rules in U.S are about crosswalks, but maybe you can tell me about it |

Re: Kid Walking with His Mother on Crosswalk Gets Hit by a Car
"Local Authority shall mark the crosswalks in a manner conforming to the uniform system of traffic control devices created under IC 9-21-3. -" I'm not sure about other States, but in my state the crosswalks must be placed by the traffic lights. I have never seen a crosswalk anywhere other than where the traffic lights are, especially one that makes the traffic stop for the pedestrian, without having the traffic light showing red. That just seems like a disaster waiting to happen. |

Re: Kid Walking with His Mother on Crosswalk Gets Hit by a Car
In Pennsylvania there are plenty of crosswalks placed in between blocks, and it's state law that you MUST stop. They look a lot like these, actually. This is 100% the fault of the SUV, I don't blame mama at all except maybe she could've been paying a bit more attention. I think the "checking her phone" part was her freaking out and thinking about dialing whatever 911/999 equivalent they have. |
