Re: Insurance Scam Accident Caught on Drive Cam
That kind of rolling insurance scam was a really big deal here in California a few years back. They used a team of three cars to trap the victim and basically cause a rear end collision. I recently had a front facing tiny tiny little camera installed in my new SUV. It works great, but surprisingly not very many folks around here have them...you'd think it would standard equipment these days.

Re: Insurance Scam Accident Caught on Drive Cam
And this is why I have cameras front and back on my car. Someone tried to pull this scam on me once. They got confused when I just laughed at them when they went mental at me, called the cops, and the entire time they didn't notice the VERY visible GoPro cameras I have in my car. The cops couldn't help but laugh with me when they watched the vid right there at the scene, and booked the other driver for fraud, expired license, and no insurance. |

Re: Insurance Scam Accident Caught on Drive Cam
It's more useful for backing into tight spots, but it's also useful for demonstrating that you *didn't* back into someone. Not to mention demonstrating that they may have been holding a phone/beer/lipstick/penis whilst they were driving.
