Re: Gas Refinery Explosion, Texas

Sour gas alarm. (Hydrogen sulfide) I worked in the area (just North of the state line in New Mexico) and alarms sound when there's a leak - everyone evacuates immediately - UPwind from the leak. Knowing there was a leak, it seems natural that some of them knew a fire was a distinct possibility.
Exactly, I worked at BP refinery in Texas City and that was part of our training. You hear the alarm you evacuate immediately. If you smell rotten eggs, fuck the alarm and get the fuck out.

You could hear the one guy talking about a plant explosion at one of his previous jobs. You can see a bunch of guys standing around waiting for the ok to go back.

And yes, there are a shitload of ******** that work there. If they could pass the safety exam their would be plenty more.

2 cameras waiting for the explosion? Seems a little odd.
Would seem they were alarmed and it was, rightly so, decided to evacuate. Which clearly saved their lives. Imagine this happening in another ocuntry, like India or China, the majority of them would be dead.

You're kidding right? It's clued they were evacuated and they were all filming. I work at plants myself in Houston and it's a very dangerous situation.
