Re: Fuel Truck Explodes when Two Men Entering the Vehicle
Static electricity from dumbass touching the truck door. Good example as to why you should never lock fuel nozzle on while filling your car then going to sit in your car until it fills up your tank. You get out of car with a static charge on you then ground charge when you touch fuel nozzle and then... BLAMMMO instant flaming arsehole! |

Re: Fuel Truck Explodes when Two Men Entering the Vehicle
From the slowness of the spread of the fire, I would say it must have been heating oil or cleaning solvent. Also, I asked a fuel tanker driver if they ever had a fire and what they do, and he said the trucks light off all the time at the terminals....the key is to not panic, and close the tank lid. The fire goes right out. It looks to me like the guy doing the filling just bailed as soon as the fire started, did not close the lid, and left the filling pump running, as the fuel is visible all around the ground on the truck. You pay peanuts....you get monkeys......... |
