Peru. Five people died and thirteen got injured, some in critical condition to today when a pick-up truck, allegedly driven by a drunk youth, lost control of the vehicle and hit motorcycles, pedestrians and a tuktuk Thursday.

The driver was identified as Jefferson E.R, who was intervened by authorities and transported to the town of Moyobamba for proper ethyl dosing.

According to preliminary information, beer cans were found inside the vehicle, which would reinforce the hypothesis of drunk driving.

The victims were urgently evacuated to several hospitals, where several of the injured remain fighting for their lives.

Citizens demand justice and exemplary sanctions for those responsible. Once again, alcohol behind the wheel rips entire families and leaves an irreparable wound in the community.
