Images from monitoring cameras obtained by G1 on Wednesday (13) capture the moment when a driver lost control of a car and hit four people of the same family in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo (see above). An elderly woman and a child have undergone surgery and are still in the hospital. A 12-year-old girl is already admitted to the ICU. The driver of the car gave no help and fled after the accident.
According to what was found by G1, the driver was driving along Avenida Campos Sales, on the road towards Porto de Santos, when he lost control of the direction and hit a trash container. Afterwards, he hit four people from the same family who were sitting on the canal wall.
A 72-year-old woman, two granddaughters, 12 and 20 years old, and only two years old grandson were affected. In the images, it is possible to see the exact moment of the accident, when the grandmother and the great-grandchild are thrown with the impact. The vehicle also fell into the channel. Then the cameras recorded the victims' family members rushing out to help them. Neighbors and people passing by also stopped to help.
The images also show that when the victims are initially rescued, two men who were in the car get out the passenger side window, climb up and climb the canal. According to information provided by Santos City Hall, the driver fled the scene after the accident.
The elderly woman's son, driver FFH, 45, reported to G1 that he was not at the scene at the time of the hit, but arrived a few minutes later, as the family told him by phone what happened, and he was close. .

According to Hernandez, the 12-year-old girl was most seriously injured. After the accident, he says the family found bottles of liquor in the car that caused the accident.

In a note, the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) informed that the case was registered by the Central Judicial Police (CPJ) of Santos and forwarded to the 4th DP, which initiated a police investigation and takes steps to clarify the facts.
