they all looked to the smasher's direction before they got hit again. as if they never saw what is happening in front of them. probably why they got in that accident in the first place. not seeing what's in front of them.

This seems to be pretty common behavior over there, where people will just stop where ever they want, and/or not pay attention their surroundings. Notice the woman on the right was mere inches from being hit by a passing car and didn't seem to even flinch.
