Re: Dense Fog Causes Major Crash on I57
I live in Missouri, but this was like a 2 or 3 hour trip to get there. I'm pretty sure that our Weather Forcasters use one of those Magic Eight Balls when it comes to predicting Missouri weather |

Re: Dense Fog Causes Major Crash on I57
Our weather-people in Tucson are exceptionally good. If they say it is going to rain until 8 am, and then the clouds will break up and it will be sunny by 10 am, you can bet that is exactly what happens. I don't know how they do it. Maybe they have an extra-exceptional Lucky 16 Ball to consult! |

Re: Dense Fog Causes Major Crash on I57
The pile-up was caused by someone braking late in fog around 8am. The Mississippi County EMS believes the driver hit the breaks, ensuing a chain reaction on Interstate 57 near Charleston. Director of the Charleston Department of Public Safety Robert Hearnes told the outlet: 'As we approached the interstate, it was a very thick fog, you couldn't - the visibility was less than 50 feet, so, the traffic had already backed up. 'We had multiple accidents on both sides of the interstate, the north and the southbound lanes were shut down.' There always will be people that don't slow down in foggy conditions, which is required by law. it's not the fog that causes an accident but panicking morons behind the wheel. |
