This seems to happen about once a week in Brazil. They need traffic lights that will raise a barrier and block those with a red light from moving.

Or put a stop sign on the cross street. ANYTHING AT ALL!
Hard to believe motorcyclists drive that fast in places where there is no intersection control. I'd be edging up to EVERY intersection unless I KNEW it was clear.
