Crushing in to the Highway Cleaning Vehicle, HNR
Hungary. The footage was released by the highway maintenance company, they say the car hit their water filled instrument (which intended to absorb energy in a situation like that) without breaking. The driver had a look at the damage and left. Obviously there was a temporary speed limit in the area, and signs too.

Not sure on that, in most cases there are another vehicle behind the cleaning one, with a huge arrow to the right (or left, if it's the outer lane), and a lot of orange lights, so after that the whole lane should be forbidden. I can't see the other vehicle on the video tho |

Wouldn't have mattered. If the guy is on his phone and not paying attention, why sacrifice poor cone lives on the alter of stupidity? Better to mount a 10 foot long spear on the back, with a little banner as a warning. That way, the idiots don't get a chance to kill you twice. |

Re: Crushing in to the Highway Cleaning Vehicle, HNR
Yeah. Except that 2nd vehicle should be...in immediate view of the vehicle they are following. Makes no sense to have a whatever vehicle that is working with the rear cam vehicle to be so far away, if there even was one. And if the 2nd vehicle needs to be so far away, they’d have the “lane closed” lights arrow signs set up at multiple intervals. While some fault is at driver, the Dept of traffic safety are more at fault. They better not seek the car driver to pay for the damage. |
