Bridge Collapses when Truck Transporting Excavator Crosses It
A bridge in India collapsed , when a truck carrying heavy construction material to LAC was passing over it. The bridge was the only supply line for the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. Two people got injured. |

If you are going to roll over a marginal bridge, you MOVE. Going slowly is no safer than going quickly. Looks like he even slowed down after he got onto it. I think one of the reasons for the heavy equipment is, if you remember a week ago, the Indian troops and the Chinese got into a pretty tough fight. I think the Indians are beefing up their stations on the Chinese mountain border areas. It's high enough altitude they say they can't use motor vehicles at the top, and they can't rush troops in. They have to be acclimated for a couple of weeks or a month before they can function. So both the Chinese and the Indians are rebuilding their high mountain troop facilities. No shooting this last time, but many guys on both sides got tossed over the cliffs and died. It was strictly a rumble, with fists and clubs, and not a real gun battle. But deadly just the same. |
