Spain. The woman, of Colombian origin, has shown a rate higher than 1.30 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air, which is five times the maximum allowed, whose generic limit (except for professionals and novices) is 0.25.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 15. Several witnesses called the 112-Andalucía emergency services to report that a car was driving against traffic on the AP-7 motorway.

Specifically, the driver of the car - later revealed to be a woman - was driving on the road in the direction of Algeciras, although she was driving in the direction of Malaga, that is, the opposite of the rest of the vehicles.

Minutes later, several individuals called Emergency Services again to report that the car had collided head-on with another at kilometer 207. In fact, the collision was recorded on a mobile phone by another user who was driving on the opposite road.

Health officials confirmed that five people were injured in the accident and taken to the Costa del Sol Hospital, several of them in serious condition. The injured include four women, two aged 42 and two aged 43, and a 36-year-old man.

The driver who caused the accident underwent a breathalyzer test, and given the reading, legal proceedings are being initiated against her—as a suspect—for alleged offenses against road safety and negligent injury.

Everything indicates that she took an exit from the highway believing it was an on-ramp.
