I was always under the impression hydraulic fluid was non-flammable.  Guess i'm wrong yet again.

Hydraulic fluids for the most part are considered to be much less flammable than middle distillate fuels. Petroleum-based hydraulic fluids have high flash points, while water-based hydraulic fluids (because of their high water content) are definitely nonflammable. |

No they're not generally very flammable but when they're atomized in this case from a high pressure leak the oxygen fuel mixture becomes just about right. There was a video making the rounds on YouTube and maybe on here of a trash truck that had a hydraulic leak and went up in a ball of flames. |
