Any 250 cc scooter can max out at 120 kpm. Most 500 cc scooters can go 190 kph+. When you say "scooters just aren't fast enough" that is just lack of knowledge on your part.

In North America most states/provinces allows scooters on highways if only the motor vehicle can travel the speed limit posted.

any biker knows that the safest lane to be in is the one with the least traffic in....if she was in the other lane she would've been holding up all those cars and the truck....she was in the right place, the car driver was at fault and there's not even a question as to whether or not she was in the right or wrong place....

if there were no other vehicles in the left lane she couldv'e moved over to give the car a chance to merge without stopping, it's not law anywhere to do that but it's common courtesy and the smarter and safer option....but there were vehicles there, so she did the right thing...

no doubt the car driver didn't see her because all he saw was the huge truck

Dude it's just common sense to avoid the merging lane because.... wait for it...................... the lane is subject to vehicle constantly merging onto the highway and other vehicles exiting. Faster than the ones around here then; a scooter of that size can barely do 80 or 90 kph. Cops pull them over all the time for blocking traffic, so many of them just trundle along in the slow lane.

You may be confused between Scooters and Mopeds. This older dude here that pulled up beside me has a Yamaha T MAX 500. This scoot does well over 200 kph.
